Frequently Asked Questions

Contact us!

Professional Supervised Visitation provides a structured, judgment-free setting where a trained neutral provider observes interactions between a parent and child for a designated period of time.

Designed for families navigating high-conflict or high-risk situations, these visits offer a safe, neutral, and professionally managed environment that prioritizes the child’s well-being.

Each session is carefully documented, ensuring clear, court-ready records that support accountability, transparency, and positive parent-child engagement.

Observational supervision involves a neutral provider monitoring the visit without offering input or guidance—primarily focused on ensuring safety and documenting behavior.

Supportive supervision, on the other hand, includes light coaching and structured activities to help parents strengthen their relationship with the child. The supervisor may offer real-time feedback, suggest ways to interact positively, and redirect behavior when needed—all while maintaining a neutral and child-focused approach. Supportive visits are especially helpful in reunification cases or when a parent is rebuilding trust and connection.

We document the interactions between the child and parent through written notes or recordings. After the visit, we can provide a copy of our handwritten notes or transcription to the requesting party within 48 hours.

No. It is the responsibility of the client to provide their attorney with documentation and communication from Safe Time, unless the attorney directly contacts us.

If needed, a records request may be required to release certain documents. Please note that some forms of communication and documentation may require a fee.

If your attorney would like direct access to reports or visit summaries, they can contact Safe Time, and we will work with them to provide the necessary information.

Supervised visits can take place in our Willow Park office, a park, zoo, entertainment establishments such as Film Alley or CiCi's Pizza. If allowed, the visits can also take place in the home of the visiting parents or family members. Certain locations are not allowed due to the inability to hear or maintain constant contact with the child. Your court order will specify where locations can occur.

If a parent misses a scheduled visit without prior notice, the absence will be documented in the official visit summary and may be reported to the referring attorney or court, if applicable.

Please note that all visits must be paid in advance and are non-refundable. Missed visits cannot be credited toward future appointments.

While we understand that emergencies can occur, repeated no-shows or late cancellations may impact future scheduling and could be viewed as noncompliance. We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.

Supervisors are present to observe and monitor all interactions to ensure that conversations and activities remain emotionally and physically safe for the child. If discussions begin to shift toward adult topics, the supervisor will step in and redirect the conversation to maintain a child-appropriate environment. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in guiding and engaging with their child throughout the visit.

While we do not offer a sliding scale, we provide a reduced intake fee of $25 for clients referred by licensed professionals, such as attorneys or therapists. Our fees are structured to be affordable while still allowing us to maintain quality services and ensure the sustainability of our business.

If you have any questions about fees or eligibility for the reduced intake fee, please feel free to contact us!

All parties fill out an online intake form. A copy of the court order is provided at that time. A non-refundable intake fee of $25 is collected. After receiving all forms, an intake orientation will be arranged individually for each party. This orientation can take place in person, via phone (FaceTime), or through Zoom.

Safe Time Supervised Visitation is a member of the Supervised Visitation Network. Supervisors maintain professionalism at all times and adhere to the SVN Code of Values and Code of Ethics. You can expect respect, integrity, ethical conduct, and excellent service at all times.

Supervised visitation begins at $65 to $85 for each hour, with charges applied in 2-hour blocks. For off-site visits exceeding 5 hours, the rate drops to $75 per hour.

Safe Time Supervised Visitation prioritizes the safety of all parties involved. We have a set of policies and procedures in place to ensure that your visitations run smoothly and safely. Upon completing the Intake Form, you will receive the Policy and Procedures Packet.

Only approved individuals may attend visitation. These are usually specified in the court order or mutually agreed upon beforehand. Visitation is focused on reconnecting parents and children in a neutral, low-stress environment to support positive interactions. Initial visitations should remain between the child and parent without distractions to help build a strong, positive connection in a calm and focused setting.

If a Protective or No-Contact Order exists, Safe Time Visits strictly follows the court’s instructions to ensure everyone’s safety. To maintain order and prevent contact between parties, we use staggered arrival and departure times. This helps create a secure, neutral environment for visitations while respecting legal boundaries. Please provide a copy of any such orders during intake so we can accommodate your case appropriately.

Courts may order a home inspection when there are concerns about the safety, cleanliness, or overall suitability of a parent’s living environment. This often occurs in high-conflict custody cases, during reunification, or when there are allegations such as:

  • Drug or alcohol use in the home

  • Unsanitary conditions (excessive clutter, filth, infestations)

  • Lack of electricity, running water, or functioning appliances

  • Unsafe individuals residing in the home

  • Concerns about supervision, accessibility, or general child safety

A professional home inspection provides an objective, documented assessment to help attorneys and the court make informed decisions in the best interest of the child.

Our Pre-Visit Drug and Alcohol Testing includes a comprehensive panel that tests for the following substances:

  • Alcohol (BAC - Blood Alcohol Concentration)

  • Amphetamines (AMP)

  • Barbiturates (BAR)

  • Cocaine (COC)

  • Ecstasy (MDMA)

  • Methamphetamines (MET)

  • Methadone (MTD)

  • Opiates (OPI)

  • Oxycodone (OXY)

  • Phencyclidine (PCP)

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - Marijuana)

This broad range of testing ensures a safe, sober environment for parent-child interactions and provides the necessary documentation for court compliance.

A Parenting Coordinator helps separated or divorced parents reduce conflict and make child-focused decisions. They provide education, guidance, and structured support to improve communication, manage parenting plans, and assist with everyday co-parenting challenges—always within the scope of the court order.

Parenting Coordination and Case Management are not the same as mediation or counseling.

Unlike mediation, which focuses on helping parties reach a mutual legal agreement, Parenting Coordination involves ongoing support to help parents implement existing court orders and reduce conflict around day-to-day parenting issues.

Unlike counseling, which explores emotional or psychological concerns, Parenting Coordination is a child-focused, structured process that provides education, guidance, and real-time support to help parents communicate more effectively and follow parenting plans.

Our services do not include therapy or legal advice. Instead, we focus on practical problem-solving, accountability, and supporting the child’s best interests within the scope of the court’s direction.

A Parenting Coordinator can assist parents in resolving day-to-day co-parenting challenges while keeping the focus on the child’s well-being. Common issues include:

  • Clarifying or implementing parenting time schedules

  • Coordinating holidays, exchanges, and school events

  • Managing child-related communication between parents

  • Supporting transitions during reunification or after separation

  • Reducing conflict and improving cooperation

  • Encouraging child-focused decision-making

  • Recommending parenting resources or services (like classes or counseling)

Parenting Coordinators do not provide legal advice or therapy but offer structured support and documentation to help families follow court orders and reduce ongoing disputes.

We accept referrals from attorneys, therapists, courts, and social service agencies across North Texas. Upon referral, we’ll contact the client by phone and email. If there’s no response within 3 business days, we’ll notify the referring professional by email.

Referral Benefit: Clients referred by licensed professionals receive a $25 intake discount.

Once you have received your written and signed court order or parenting plan agreement, you may proceed to complete the intake form. During the process, you will be asked to upload your court orders and a valid form of identification to verify your identity.

In addition to the intake, you will also need to attend an orientation session. Orientation is available in-person or virtually and will provide you with important information about our services and the visitation process. It is a required step before we can begin scheduling any supervised visits.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with the intake process. We are here to help!

Yes! Our office is part of a shared complex with other professionals. As Safe Time may be meeting with a parent at our office, in the community, or at a private home, appointments are required to ensure we can accommodate your visit. Please schedule in advance to ensure availability. Thank you for understanding!

For your visitation, we recommend bringing items that will help create a positive, engaging experience for both you and your child. Some suggestions include:

  • Any items requested by the court (diaper bag and supplies)

  • Comfort items for your child (like a favorite toy, blanket, or book)

  • Activity materials and snacks (such as coloring books, small games, or crafts. You may also bring snacks and a drink)

  • Important documents (e.g., custody papers or communication logs if requested)

  • A positive attitude and openness to engage with your child during the visit

Please avoid bringing items that may create messes, distractions or discomfort for your child. All personal belongings will be monitored to ensure safety during the visit. If you have any questions about what to bring or need further guidance, feel free to contact us ahead of time!
