Frequently Asked Questions

Professional Supervised Visitation provides a structured, judgment-free setting where a trained neutral provider observes interactions between a parent and child for a designated period of time.

Designed for families navigating high-conflict or high-risk situations, these visits offer a safe, neutral, and professionally managed environment that prioritizes the child’s well-being.

Each session is carefully documented, ensuring clear, court-ready records that support accountability, transparency, and positive parent-child engagement.

Observational supervision involves a neutral provider monitoring the visit without offering input or guidance—primarily focused on ensuring safety and documenting behavior.

Supportive supervision, on the other hand, includes light coaching and structured activities to help parents strengthen their relationship with the child. The supervisor may offer real-time feedback, suggest ways to interact positively, and redirect behavior when needed—all while maintaining a neutral and child-focused approach. Supportive visits are especially helpful in reunification cases or when a parent is rebuilding trust and connection.

Yes, pictures are allowed as long as your child is comfortable and the court order does not prohibit photography. Please be respectful of the child’s feelings and comfort level.

Yes, you may bring approved food items that are not messy. For small children, consider snacks like Cheerios, yogurt drops, or water in a sippy cup. For older kids, easy-to-eat finger foods like crackers work well. Please avoid foods with artificial dyes (such as Cheez-Its) or any items you know the other parent would not approve of to keep the visit comfortable for everyone.

The length and frequency of supervised visits vary depending on the court order, parenting plan, or mutual agreement between the parties. Typically, visits last between 1 to 3 hours and may occur weekly, biweekly, or as directed by the court or family agreement.

Yes! As long as your court order or parenting plan allows it, visits can take place virtually through our monitored and recorded Zoom sessions.

No. It is the responsibility of the client to provide their attorney with documentation and communication from Safe Time, unless the attorney directly contacts us.

If needed, a records request may be required to release certain documents. Please note that some forms of communication and documentation may require a fee.

If your attorney would like direct access to reports or visit summaries, they can contact Safe Time, and we will work with them to provide the necessary information.

Supervised visits can take place in our Willow Park office, a park, zoo, entertainment establishments such as Film Alley or CiCi's Pizza. If allowed, the visits can also take place in the home of the visiting parents or family members. Certain locations are not allowed due to the inability to hear or maintain constant contact with the child. Your court order will specify where locations can occur.

If a parent misses a scheduled visit without prior notice, the absence will be documented in the official visit summary and may be reported to the referring attorney or court, if applicable.

Please note that all visits must be paid in advance and are non-refundable. Missed visits cannot be credited toward future appointments.

While we understand that emergencies can occur, repeated no-shows or late cancellations may impact future scheduling and could be viewed as noncompliance. We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.

Supervisors are present to observe and monitor all interactions to ensure that conversations and activities remain emotionally and physically safe for the child. If discussions begin to shift toward adult topics, the supervisor may redirect the conversation to maintain a child-appropriate environment. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in guiding and engaging with their child throughout the visit.

While we do not offer a sliding scale, we provide a reduced intake fee of $25. Our fees are structured to be affordable while still allowing us to maintain quality services and ensure the sustainability of our business.

All parties fill out an online intake form. A copy of the court order is provided at that time. A non-refundable intake fee of $25 is collected. After receiving all forms, an intake orientation will be arranged individually for each party. This orientation can take place in person, via phone (FaceTime), or through Zoom.

Safe Time Supervised Visitation is a member of the Supervised Visitation Network. Supervisors maintain professionalism at all times and adhere to the SVN Code of Values and Code of Ethics. You can expect respect, integrity, ethical conduct, and excellent service at all times.

Supervised visitation begins at $65 to $85 for each hour, with charges applied in 2-hour blocks. For off-site visits exceeding 5 hours, the rate drops to $75 per hour.

At Safe Time Supervised Visitation, safety comes first. We have clear policies and procedures in place to ensure every visit runs smoothly and remains child-focused. After completing the Intake Form, you’ll receive our full Policies & Procedures Packet. Our approach is not one-size-fits-all—our policies and procedures are customized to fit your family’s unique situation, creating meaningful, supportive visits that prioritize the child’s emotional and physical well-being.

Only approved individuals may attend visitation. These are usually specified in the court order or mutually agreed upon beforehand. Visitation is focused on reconnecting parents and children in a neutral, low-stress environment to support positive interactions. Initial visitations should remain between the child and parent without distractions to help build a strong, positive connection in a calm and focused setting.

If a Protective or No-Contact Order exists, Safe Time Visits strictly follows the court’s instructions to ensure everyone’s safety. To maintain order and prevent contact between parties, we use staggered arrival and departure times. This helps create a secure, neutral environment for visitations while respecting legal boundaries. Please provide a copy of any such orders during intake so we can accommodate your case appropriately.

Courts may order a home inspection when there are concerns about the safety, cleanliness, or overall suitability of a parent’s living environment. This often occurs in high-conflict custody cases, during reunification, or when there are allegations such as:

  • Drug or alcohol use in the home
  • Unsanitary conditions
  • Lack of electricity, running water, or functioning appliances
  • Unsafe individuals residing in the home
  • Concerns about supervision, accessibility, or general child safety

A professional home inspection provides an objective, documented assessment to help attorneys and the court make informed decisions in the best interest of the child.

Our comprehensive pre-visit testing uses saliva samples—not urine—to ensure a safe and sober environment for parent-child visits. The panel screens for:

  • Alcohol (BAC - Blood Alcohol Concentration)

  • Amphetamines (AMP)

  • Barbiturates (BAR)

  • Cocaine (COC)

  • Ecstasy (MDMA)

  • Methamphetamines (MET)

  • Methadone (MTD)

  • Opiates (OPI)

  • Oxycodone (OXY)

  • Phencyclidine (PCP)

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - Marijuana)

This wide-ranging testing helps maintain safety during visits and provides court-compliant documentation.

To begin services, you’ll need either a signed court order, a parenting plan, or a mutual written agreement between both parties. Once you have one of these, you can complete the Intake Form, which includes uploading the agreement and a valid photo ID for identity verification.

You’ll also attend a required orientation session, available in-person or virtually, where you'll receive important information about our services and the visitation process. Orientation must be completed before scheduling any supervised visits.

Yes!, we strive to ensure all forms are assessable from your mobile device.

Yes! Our office is part of a shared complex with other professionals. As Safe Time may be meeting with a parent at our office, in the community, or at a private home, appointments are required to ensure we can accommodate your visit. Please schedule in advance to ensure availability. Thank you for understanding!

To help create a positive, engaging visit, we recommend bringing:

  • Any items requested by the court (e.g., diaper bag and supplies)

  • Comfort items for your child, like a favorite toy, blanket, or book

Our office provides age-appropriate toys for children ages 0–10 years, so you don’t need to bring toys unless you want to. Please avoid bringing items that could cause messes, distractions, or discomfort.

Virtual supervised visits are conducted through Zoom and are recorded to ensure safety and accountability. Each visit is closely monitored in real time by a professional supervisor.

The supervisor observes the entire session, watching and listening to ensure everything remains appropriate and within agreed guidelines. If anything concerning is seen or heard, the visit is immediately paused. Participants are placed in separate virtual rooms so the issue can be addressed. The supervisor then determines whether the visit can continue.

These visits are structured to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone involved.
