Professional Supervised Visitation provides a structured, judgment-free setting where a trained neutral provider observes interactions between a parent and child for a designated period of time.
Designed for families navigating high-conflict or high-risk situations, these visits offer a safe, neutral, and professionally managed environment that prioritizes the child’s well-being.
Each session is carefully documented, ensuring clear, court-ready records that support accountability, transparency, and positive parent-child engagement.
Supervised visitation is about prioritizing your child’s needs and well-being. Adults may need to be flexible, but minor inconveniences should never prevent a child from spending meaningful time with the people they care about. Approaching visits from the child’s perspective, rather than your own, helps create a safe, supportive, and positive experience for everyone involved.
Observational supervision involves a neutral provider monitoring the visit without offering input or guidance—primarily focused on ensuring safety and documenting behavior.
Supportive supervision, on the other hand, includes light coaching and structured activities to help parents strengthen their relationship with the child. The supervisor may offer real-time feedback, suggest ways to interact positively, and redirect behavior when needed—all while maintaining a neutral and child-focused approach. Supportive visits are especially helpful in reunification cases or when a parent is rebuilding trust and connection.
Yes, pictures are allowed as long as your child is comfortable and the court order does not prohibit photography. Please be respectful of the child’s feelings and comfort level.
Yes, you may bring approved food items that are not messy. For small children, consider snacks like Cheerios, yogurt drops, or water in a sippy cup. For older kids, easy-to-eat finger foods like crackers work well. Please avoid foods with artificial dyes (such as Cheez-Its) or any items you know the other parent would not approve of to keep the visit comfortable for everyone.
The length and frequency of supervised visits vary depending on the court order, parenting plan, or mutual agreement between the parties. Typically, visits last between 1 to 3 hours and may occur weekly, biweekly, or as directed by the court or family agreement.
Yes! As long as your court order or parenting plan allows it, visits can take place virtually through our monitored and recorded Zoom sessions.
No. It is the client’s responsibility to provide their attorney with any documentation or communication from Safe Time unless the attorney contacts us directly.
A formal records request may be required to release certain documents. Please note that some records and forms of communication may be subject to a fee. Field notes are not routinely provided and are available only upon request.
If your attorney would like direct access to reports or visit summaries, they may contact Safe Time, and we will coordinate accordingly to provide the requested information.
Safe Time does not provide a dedicated visitation facility. Supervised visits take place in approved community settings such as parks, zoos, or child-friendly entertainment locations (e.g., Film Alley or CiCi’s Pizza), or in approved residential homes. If permitted, visits may occur in the home of the visiting parent or a family member.
Certain locations are not permitted if they do not allow for constant supervision, including the ability to remain within sight and earshot of the child at all times. Your court order will specify approved visitation locations.
If a parent misses a scheduled visit without prior notice, the absence will be documented in the official visit summary and may be reported to the referring attorney or court, if applicable.
Please note that all visits must be paid in advance and are non-refundable. Missed visits cannot be credited toward future appointments.
While we understand that emergencies can occur, repeated no-shows or late cancellations may impact future scheduling and could be viewed as noncompliance. We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
Supervisors are present to observe and monitor all interactions to ensure that conversations and activities remain emotionally and physically safe for the child. If discussions begin to shift toward adult topics, the supervisor may redirect the conversation to maintain a child-appropriate environment. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in guiding and engaging with their child throughout the visit.
While we do not offer a sliding scale, we provide a reduced intake fee of $35. Most supervised visitation providers charge approximately $150 for intake services. Our fees are structured to remain affordable while allowing us to maintain high-quality services and ensure the sustainability of our business. Face-to-face supervised visitations are billed at $95 per hour, and virtual visitations are billed at $45 per hour.
All parties complete an online intake form and provide a copy of the court order at that time. A non-refundable intake fee of $35 is collected. Once all forms are received, an individual intake orientation is scheduled for each party. Orientations may be conducted in person, via phone (FaceTime), or through Zoom. During the orientation, we review expectations, address any concerns, develop a safety plan if needed, and help troubleshoot potential challenges between co-parents to support a safe and successful visitation process.
During supervised visitation, staff maintain close proximity to monitor communication and interactions and may take observational notes as needed. Supervisors remain neutral and do not engage with the parent or child unless a safety concern arises that requires intervention.
Safe Time Supervised Visitation is a member of the Supervised Visitation Network (SVN). All supervisors maintain professionalism at all times and adhere to the SVN Code of Values and Code of Ethics. Clients can expect respect, integrity, ethical conduct, and high-quality service during all interactions.
Supervised visitation is billed at $95 per hour for face-to-face visits and $45 per hour for virtual visits. Services are typically scheduled and charged in 2-hour minimum blocks for community-based visits. Extended visits exceeding 5 hours may be billed at a reduced rate of $80 per hour.
At Safe Time Supervised Visitation, safety always comes first. Each family has its own comfort level, needs, and circumstances, so our approach is never one-size-fits-all. We maintain clear policies and procedures to ensure every visit is safe, structured, and child-focused.
After completing the Intake Form, clients receive our full Policies & Procedures Packet. These guidelines are then tailored as needed to support the unique dynamics of each family, helping create meaningful, supportive visits that prioritize the child’s emotional and physical well-being while maintaining safety and structure.
Only approved individuals may attend visitation. These are usually specified in the court order or mutually agreed upon beforehand. Visitation is focused on reconnecting parents and children in a neutral, low-stress environment to support positive interactions. Initial visitations should remain between the child and parent without distractions to help build a strong, positive connection in a calm and focused setting.
If a Protective or No-Contact Order exists, Safe Time Visits strictly follows the court’s instructions to ensure everyone’s safety. To maintain order and prevent contact between parties, we use staggered arrival and departure times. This helps create a secure, neutral environment for visitations while respecting legal boundaries. Please provide a copy of any such orders during intake so we can accommodate your case appropriately.
A home inspection may be requested by a client when there are concerns about the safety, cleanliness, or overall suitability of a parent’s living environment. This service is often used in high-conflict custody situations, during reunification processes, or when concerns arise regarding the child’s safety or stability in the home.
Clients may choose to request a home inspection if there are concerns such as:
A professional home inspection provides an objective, documented assessment of the living environment to support informed decision-making focused on the child’s best interests.
Our comprehensive pre-visit testing uses saliva samples—not urine—to ensure a safe and sober environment for parent-child visits. The panel screens for:
This wide-ranging testing helps maintain safety during visits and provides court-compliant documentation.
To begin services, you’ll need either a signed court order, a parenting plan, or a mutual written agreement between both parties. Once you have one of these, you can complete the Intake Form, which includes uploading the agreement and a valid photo ID for identity verification.
You’ll also attend a required orientation session, available in-person or virtually, where you'll receive important information about our services and the visitation process. Orientation must be completed before scheduling any supervised visits.
Yes!, we strive to ensure all forms are assessable from your mobile device.

Virtual supervised visits are conducted through Zoom and are recorded to ensure safety and accountability. Each visit is closely monitored in real time by a professional supervisor.
The supervisor observes the entire session, watching and listening to ensure everything remains appropriate and within agreed guidelines. If anything concerning is seen or heard, the visit is immediately paused. Participants are placed in separate virtual rooms so the issue can be addressed. The supervisor then determines whether the visit can continue.
These visits are structured to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone involved.
